Blue Rooster Band at Alumapalooza 7
This year, Alumapalooza 7 will feature the hottest entertainment line-up yet! Among the acts to rock Jackson Center will be the four-man Blue Rooster Band, who play “funky blues made to stir up the henhouse”—a mix of original songs and covers of classic and contemporary blues.
The bandmates—performing together as Blue Rooster for only a year and a half—have played in festivals including Smokin’ in Steele, Blues on the Chippewa, and Blues Meltdown in Minnesota.
So who is the Rooster…and why is he blue? “Finding a name is THE hardest part about being in a band,” said bass player Steve Dancin’ Hansen. “Just when you think you have a great one, it’s been taken. Our guitar player Eddie Ehrhardt has always called our drummer Tim Hasler ‘Rooster’ as it fits his personality to a T—and we do play the blues, so ergo Blue Rooster.”
Hansen says he’s the only band member “with aluminitis,” though “I guess I have almost enough trailers for the whole group.” His Airstream collection includes a ’66 Safari “currently undergoing a shell-off”, a ’64 Tradewind “won in Rob Baker’s raffle some years ago; best $25 I ever spent!”, and a ’55 18-footer with a whale tail.
Blue Rooster will perform exclusively for Alumapalooza 7 attendees under the big tent on the grounds of the Airstream factory. Register soon—the event dates are May 31 to June 5, 2016.
